The Martin ME 102 is a safe and reliable full featured electrosurgical unit which features both monopolar and a full fledged bipolar generator. It is the ultimate choice for advanced, small and large labs performing minor surgery.
Versatile
This unit offers four different current types to suit a wide range of applications:
- Two for cutting
- One for contact coagulation
- One for bipolar coagulation
Performance
This electrosurgical unit offers a micro function which allows an instant reduction in output for more delicate research applications such as neurological or microsurgery. The newly developed high frequency generators automatically adjust the current output in response to the tissue impedance characteristics. This means that changes of impedance during electrosurgery are dynamically monitored and the current output is automatically adjusted. For added convenience each current mode setting (monopolar cutting, monopolar coagulation and bipolar coagulation) has it’s own analog output adjustment knob.
Current Activation
Two different methods are available for activation of the current. The first is by using a handle with integral finger switches. These switches are color-coded to eliminate the possibility of selecting the wrong function (cutting or coagulation). The second method uses a basic handle (with no integral switch) and a foot switch. That, in combination with a large selection of active electrodes, make this unit suitable for a wide variety of procedures.
Simple and Safe Operation
All the operating controls and user connecting sockets are positioned at the front of the unit. The three control knobs are situated in such a position as to make their function clear and obvious. Illuminated, pressure sensitive switches clearly show the functional settings of the unit. All sockets are clearly marked and will not accept false connections. The unit is not affected during the use of a defibrillator.
Ease of Cleaning
Due to the high efficiency of these generators no cooling is necessary. The unit is a sealed cabinet making cleaning and disinfecting a breeze. The face plate has pressure sensitive switches which may be surface disinfected with a suitable damp cloth. The body is constructed from specially treated aluminum and a robust, inert plastic. The aluminum is protected against oxidation from disinfecting fluids.
Safety
The Martin ME 102 meets all the safety requirements of basic electrosurgical standards. It is not possible for the unit to deliver a higher output than has been set on the controls and the unit is automatically switched off in the event of a malfunction.
This unit is supplied with a power cord. All hand pieces, electrodes and accessories must be purchased separately, see pages D49 and D50. Five convenient sets have been created, three for hand switch operation and two for foot switch operation. Each set contains a selection of electrodes, electrode stand, and a choice of switch preference. Products may also be purchased separately. Both standard and operating theater type (explosion proof) foot switches are available. There is also a series of forceps for bipolar use. Features:
